How does infrared sauna work?

Infrared heaters in the sauna emit FAR Infrared heat which is a narrow band of energy within the 5.6 to 15 micron level. This type of energy closely resembles the natural human spectrum so it’s easily absorbed by the body tissue.

The body reacts by sweating profusely which has many health benefits including detoxification, improved blood flow, circulation and weight loss.

Do SunRay Saunas emit EMF?

SunRay, unlike many manufacturers, does not use wires to conduct FAR Infrared heat, rather we apply the perfect thickness of ultra-conductive carbon to an epoxy resin panel activated by positive and negative copper strips on either side.

Laminating the epoxy resin panel results in ultra low EMF levels that are safe for continuous use.

How is the sauna packaged?

SunRay Saunas contain wooden panels that are pre-packaged in cardboard boxes and then placed on a wooden pallet to ensure the sauna arrives without damage.

You can remove the cardboard boxes from the pallet and they will fit through any door size 24” or greater.

Does the sauna come pre-assembled?

SunRay Saunas are not pre-assembled. Furthermore, they arrive in panels which are secured together with screws and metal latches. Assembly takes approximately one hour.

How long does it take to assemble the Sunray Sierra Sauna?

Most sauna models take about an hour to assemble. Two people are required. For more information on the assembly of the unit please see the assembly instructions.

Do you need any special tools to assemble the sauna?

No, the only tool you need to assemble the sauna is a Philips head screwdriver or drill with a Philips head bit.

What voltage does the Sunray Sierra Sauna run on?

All SunRay saunas use UL listed plugs and operate on 110V. Some larger saunas require a non-standard 20 amp plug and require a 20 amp circuit.

Can I place the sauna on the second floor?

Most saunas weigh between 300-400lbs. However, you can place a sauna on the second floor.

Can I use the Sunray Sierra Sauna outdoors?

All SunRay Saunas except the outdoor models must be used indoors. They are not suitable for outdoor use.

How do I clean the sauna?

First, unplug the sauna and make sure it is cool before cleaning. To clean the wooden interior of your sauna mix 3 teaspoons of baking soda into a gallon of warm water. Use a towel to wipe down the interior with the baking soda and water mixture.

Next, wipe the sauna down with a wet towel and let dry. You can clean the glass in your sauna with glass cleaner. If you have an outdoor sauna, use a standard garden hose on a low/mist setting to wash out the interior. Therefore make sure to leave the door open so the sauna can dry.

How often do I need to clean the sauna?

The sauna should be cleaned every 6 months or at your discretion if you are using it regularly. Sitting on a towel while in the sauna will capture a lot of sweat and thereby reduce the frequency of cleaning the sauna.

This product has a 7-Year Warranty against material and workmanship defects. To make a warranty claim, you need to fill out the registration card and send it with a valid receipt to the address below or email warranty@sunraysaunas.com. However, it's important to note that the manufacturer covers the entire sauna structure, including heating elements, but only covers the radio for 1 year.    

You need to provide a receipt for any warranty claim, and you may need to arrange and pay for return shipping.. The warranty does not cover misuse, improper installation, or damage from natural causes. SUNRAY INDOOR SAUNAS ARE NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE. Do not use harsh cleaners or lacquers on the sauna, and do not place it on unapproved surfaces. Surface cracks are normal.

  • Do not use lacquers, paints or abrasive cleaners on the sauna.
  • Do not place the sauna on non-approved surfaces or in outdoor applications.
  • Surface cracks are not considered defects in material or workmanship, as they are considered normal characteristics of all wood."

As soon as you place an order you will receive an order confirmation e-mail from us. This means we have your order in our system and have pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase. We offer free shipping on all orders and on applicable items and brands as well.

This is important because if the goods are damaged and you must note this with the courier so a freight claim can be filed and we can arrange for either a repair or return of the damaged goods. If you do suspect the goods are damaged due to the outer carton appearing damaged, please note “Possible Freight Damage” on the delivery receipt while the driver is present. This will protect your insurance claim if the product is damaged and a freight insurance claim needs to be filed.

Great Sauna once you get it working

We were excited to receive our sauna, had a few shipping delays (FedEx-not much you can do). As I was reviewing the boxes I realized the one thing that was important to me was that it was made in the USA. But the box said made in China. That was very disappointing, but we are stuck now that it is here and no way for us to lift the boxes to send them back. Took my husband and I only a short time to put it together. About as long to unpack it as it took to assemble. No instructions were included in the box, but it was rather easy to see, and after watching a similar assembly on U-tube. (still have a bunch of screws not sure what they are for). Then came the moment of truth we plugged it in and the board showed all 8's, could not adjust the temp or time, could not turn on the lights. We called customer service, and got a call back right away. They gave us a number to tech support. Called them multiple times with no response. Left messages about one a hour for the next 8 hours. Was frustrated, so got out my volt meter and went to check all the connections and wires, found a wire connection that was defective. Ran to the local electrical store and got a new connector came home and installed it and pugged it back in and everything worked. We have had it for about a week now and it works well. Takes about 20 min to get up to temp, but gives a nice even heating, the floor heater is great to even out the heat. Overall we are pleased with our purchase, We have downloaded the user guide on this page but it is not for this sauna, it would be nice to get a copy of the warrantee just in case we have any further problems. But I feel if we do we are on out own again. Again the reason we wanted to use a company based in the USA.

I do think however that I would go the 3 person just for a little more extra elbow room or stretching out the legs. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my new sauna.
